OneOncology now has partner practices in 14 states.
Plans on the East and West Coasts will join the OneOncology platform, bringing another 11 medical oncologists, a palliative care physician, and 15 advanced practice providers into Nashville-based network, according to a statement released today.
Coastal Cancer Center of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Pacific Cancer Center of Monterey, California, are the latest practices to join OneOncology, which last month announced a planned acquisition by AmerisourceBergen and TPG. The transaction, valued at $2.1 billion, will allow the network’s practices, physicians, and management to retain minority ownership of the platform.
Coastal Cancer Center. Led by Emily Touloukian, DO, the practice has 6 medical oncologists, a hospitalist, and 8 advanced practice providers caring for
patients at 4 locations, offering medical oncology and hematology services, an in-office lab, oral pharmacy, and advanced medical imaging services, including PET/CT. The OneOncology partnership will allow Coastal Cancer Center to attract additional physicians and expand services, Touloukian said in a statement.
“Joining other independent oncology practices on the OneOncology platform gives our practice the best opportunity to grow and bring cutting-edge cancer care and clinical trials to our patients,” said Touloukian, who is president of Coastal Cancer Center, a member of the Community Oncology Alliance board and immediate past president of the South Carolina Oncology Society. “We’re thrilled to join OneOncology and its partners and look forward to our future together.”
Pacific Cancer Center. This practice, which has 5 medical oncologists, 1 palliative care physician, and 7 advanced practice providers, offers medical
oncology, hematology, clinical trials, palliative care, chronic care management, health coach counseling, an in-house lab, and oral pharmacy services. Led by Zach Koontz, MD, president and managing partner, the practice also has plans for growth in both personnel and new clinics and services, including gynecological oncologists. Pacific Cancer Center is the third OneOncology partner in California.
“California’s Central Coast is an incredible place to care for cancer patients,” said Koontz. “Partnering with OneOncology provides us with the expertise and resources to attract additional physicians to our independent practice while also offering our patients additional clinical trials and other innovative therapies. We are extremely excited about partnering with national experts in cancer care.”
With the addition of Coastal Cancer Center, OneOncology now has a footprint in 14 states. “OneOncology has tremendous momentum,” said Jeff Patton, MD, who is CEO of OneOncology. “On the heels of announcing new financial and strategic partners, practices continue to see the value our partnership brings to them, their physicians, and practices. We look forward to working with our new partners to help each realize their goals to grow and further our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.”
