To help celebrate and recognize National Recovery Month, we have brought you another limited-edition month-long podcast series with our Strategic Alliance Partner, UPMC Health Plan. Welcome to our final episode and our discussion with Lyndra Bills, MD, senior medical director, and Shari Hutchison, MS, director of program evaluation and outcomes, both with Community Care Behavioral Health Organization, part of the UPMC Insurance Services Division.

More than 90% of adults have experienced a traumatic event at some point in their lifetime. Community Care Behavioral Health Organization has collaborated and continues to work, with county officials and health care providers to build a trauma-informed care network in rural Pennsylvania to address the demand for trauma-informed professionals. Evidence-based training programs have been developed in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Alliance of Rural Pennsylvania and a learning collaborative has been instrumental in facilitating culture change within provider practices. The success of these efforts is evident in their long-term sustainability, with providers maintaining trauma-informed practices, supported by ongoing training and learning initiatives.
