Praveen Thadani of Priority Health Receives Annual Bernard J. Tyson Health Equity Award

Praveen Thadani, president of Priority Health, has been recognized for his tireless work at reducing health care disparities over a 25-year career with the 2022 Bernard J. Tyson Health Equity Award.

Grand Rapids, Michigan — The Bernard J. Tyson Health Equity Award, established in 2021, has been given this year to Praveen Thadani, president of Priority Health. It was awarded by the Alliance of Community Health Plans.

The annual award honors the late Bernard J. Tyson, former chairman and CEO of Kaiser Permanente, and this year it recognizes Thadani for his career-spanning dedication to increasing health equity and addressing coverage and care disparities among all Americans. He joined Priority Health in 2021.

“I am honored and truly grateful that the good work of Priority Health is being recognized,” said Thadani. "We believe the only way to make a real impact on our communities is to focus on what is at the root of health inequities, like the social determinants of health. We all have the right to live our best lives regardless of the circumstances to which we are born, live, work and age.”
