Leonardo Seoane, MD, FACP, has been named Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at LSU Health Shreveport.
NEW ORLEANS -- Leonardo Seoane, MD, FACP, has been named Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at LSU Health Shreveport. Dr. Seoane will work with the LSUHS Chancellor, Provost, Deans of each professional school, and the Office of Graduate Medical Education to support student and residency training.
“The role of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs is a valuable resource to our health sciences center that enhances our focus on academic excellence in each of our professional schools and graduate medical education. Dr. Seoane brings an exemplary skill set, attitude and experiences to this position having been actively involved in academic teaching and leadership along with dedicated patient care for over twenty years,” said Dr. G. E. Ghali, Chancellor of LSU Health Shreveport.
Dr. Seoane will continue in his role as Senior Vice President and Chief Academic Officer of Ochsner Health System in addition to his new role as Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs LSU Health Shreveport. Dr. Seoane will work to align the academic missions of Ochsner and LSU Health Shreveport to train the next generation of physicians and grow medical research to improve the care of the patients in our communities.
