The National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions (National Alliance) has released an assessment outlining how health plans are currently managing cancer for their employees and their families, as well as how these health plans can drive better value and outcomes and reduce waste in order to support oncology patients. The assessment is based on the National Alliance's annual eValue8 survey of health plans.

The survey revealed that health plan performance in cancer care and support varies across plans. It also found that enn though health plans identified cancer treatment as a critical issue, there is still an essential need for plans to review and enhance the cancer patient's journey so that purchasers and patients have access to affordable and quality care.
