Welcome to another episode of Managed Care Cast and the first podcast in our series to celebrate Pride Month in 2024. In this episode, we speak with Lancaster, Pennsylvania, native and president of Lancaster Pride, Tiffany Shirley. We learn about the history of Lancaster Pride, how Shirley shaped her identity as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, the origin of their slogan "Hate Has No Home Here," and policy priorities in an election year to foster a more inclusive and understanding environment for all.

The discussion also touches upon the importance of access to health care and health care equity that have been hot-button topics of discussion as of late, particularly in this election year. Shirley is an ardent advocate for legislation that emphasizes insurance coverage without discriminatory exclusions, affordable mental health care, increasing funding for mental health services tailored for the LGBTQ+ community, and antidiscrimination protections in health care.
