An article in Kentucky Today titled “Lower Health Care Costs Act comes with own price” referenced a study published in the August 2019 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®) titled “Influence of Out-of-Network Payment Standards on Insurer—Provider Bargaining: California’s Experience.”
An Ohio State News article, “Out-of-network costs soar for non-emergency hospitalizations,” highlighted a study published in the December 2019 issue of AJMC® titled “Cost-Sharing Payments for Out-of-Network Care in Commercially Insured Adults.” The study evaluated claims among adults covered by employer-sponsored plans, and it revealed substantial variations in out-of-network cost-sharing payments, which are growing in occurrence. Findings were additionally highlighted in an article by radio.wosu.org, the website of WOSU public radio.
A piece by Next Avenue cited a study published in the September 2018 issue of AJMC® titled “High-Touch Care Leads to Better Outcomes and Lower Costs in a Senior Population.” The study analyzed the impact of a high-touch primary care model among a Medicare Advantage population in comparison with a standard practice—based model.
