Articles from The Hill, Time, StudyFinds, and Medical Economics referenced a study to be published in the September 2025 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®) and made available online on April 22, 2025. The study, “Impact of Telemedicine Use on Outpatient-Related CO2 Emissions: Estimate From a National Cohort,” found that the carbon footprint of the US was modestly decreased with the use of telemedicine in 2023.
An article from the American Medical Association highlighted a study published in the February 2014 issue of AJMC. The study, “Formulary Restrictions on Atypical Antipsychotics: Impact on Costs for Patients With Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder in Medicaid,” found that higher total medical expenditures for patients with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia using Medicaid occurred when applying formulary restrictions on atypical antipsychotics.
A study titled “Income Differences Between Locations of 340B Entities and Contract Pharmacies,” published in the June 2023 issue of AJMC, was referenced in an opinion piece published in Capitol Weekly. The study found that, although contract pharmacies were used by hospitals and grantees to generate income, they were often not in places where low-income patients were likely to live.
