In April, the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) released their Statistical Report of Certified Physician Assistants. The report detailed significant growth of the profession in recent years, finding an increase in both the number of certified physician assistants (PAs) and the number of PA programs. These increases coincide with an aging population and a growing physician shortage.

The report also found that the way in which PAs are delivering healthcare has also evolved in recent years. During today's podcast, Dawn Morton-Rias, EdD, PA-C, president and chief executive officer of NCCPA, discusses these findings.
