Brian Carlin, MD, FCCP, Allegheny General Hospital, states that there are many challenges in providing pulmonary rehabilitation to patients with chronic lung diseases.

Brian Carlin, MD, FCCP, Allegheny General Hospital, states that there are many challenges in providing pulmonary rehabilitation to patients with chronic lung diseases. Dr Carlin says that pulmonary rehabilitation is affective in reducing hospitalizations while improving quality of life. However, he also says that there are well proven therapies in this area that can benefit many people, but there is not enough money being reimbursed to provide the services.
