What is one key takeaway from the panel discussion on population health strategies at the ACO & Emerging Healthcare Delivery Coalition?
I would say the one key takeaway is that the future of healthcare is an uncertainty right now, and I think that there’s going to be lots of progress along lots of different dimensions. I think we’re going to have new therapies, new drugs that are going to solve problems that we previously thought were insolvable. We’re going to have new technologies. I think we’re going to have a broader view of the patient in their social context.
I think the real takeaway from that panel is a lot of optimism, actually, that there’s a group of people out there who are actually trying to solve the problems that patients have in 2017. The healthcare system of the future, 2025, 2030, whatever your future look is, is going to be that we are taking better care of our patients.
