Dr. Joshua Bershad Discusses RWJUH's Approach to Achieving Value and Management Techniques

Dr. Joshua Bershad, Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ, discusses the success RWJUH has experienced by focusing on the multi-pronged benefits of achieving value--better care, lower cost, improved outcomes, reducing readmission and emergency room visits.

In addition to realizing the benefits from making value a priority, Dr. Bershad says another imperative aspect to managed care is to eliminate waste from the process by utilizing management techniques, such as Lean Six Sigma, which has proved effective for RWJUH.
