COA Praises HHS for Proposing to End Rebate System

The Community Oncology Alliance (COA) applauded President Donald Trump, HHS Secretary Alex Azar, Inspector General Daniel Levinson, and HHS staff for staking a strong stance against rebates and proposing to overal the current system.

The Community Oncology Alliance (COA) applauded President Donald Trump, HHS Secretary Alex Azar, Inspector General Daniel Levinson, and HHS staff for staking a strong stance against rebates and proposing to overal the current system. ASaccording to COA, the proposal will lower drug prices for all Americans by ensuring that they receive negotiated drug discounts, rather then plan sponsors and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).

COA also encouraged the administration to fix direct and indirect renumeration fees that PBMs get from pharmacy providers, which also drive up drug list prices. Read the full press release.
