An article from Becker’s GI & Endoscopy referenced a study published in the April 2024 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The article, “Prices and Complications in Hospital-Based and Freestanding Surgery Centers,” found that although the average prices were substantially higher in hospital-based surgery centers, freestanding surgery centers had similar rates of complications for colonoscopy, arthroscopy, and cataract removal.

A study published in the special Health IT issue of AJMC, entitled, “Modeling the Economic Value of Cardiometabolic Virtual-First Care Programs,” was referenced in an article published by mHealthIntelligence. The study found that virtual-first care had potential long-term health and financial implications when used to prevent and manage cardiometabolic chronic conditions.
