Cameron M. Kaplan, PhD

Dr Cameron M. Kaplan is a health economist and an assistant professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). He received his PhD in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2011. Dr Kaplan's research focuses on behavioral health economics and health policy, including adherence to prescription drug treatments, risk compensation, smoking, and obesity. His recent work has touched on many aspects of health policy including examining geographic and ethnic disparities in health outcomes, optimal insurance benefit design, the impact of health on education, and how economic incentives can affect healthy behaviors and health status.
