Farzad Mostashari, MD, ScM, National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, US Department of Health and Human Services, says that meaningful use sets a foundation for new models to deliver care to an entire population.

Dr. Mostashari also says that we need to switch to a new payment system that rewards value not just volume in Medicare and Medicaid. With the policies and innovations in healthcare today, lower cost, better health, and better care can be achieved.
