A quarterly publication dedicated to providing a platform for health care professionals and organizations to share research and best practices in the realm of population health, equity, and outcomes.
Mission: Population Health, Equity & Outcomes (PHEO) serves as a platform for the exchange of research, policy analysis, and insights that aim to improve health outcomes and reduce disparities in population health. PHEO’s mission is to publish evidence-based studies and commentaries that inform policy makers, health care providers, and stakeholders on strategies to advance equitable health care access, quality, and outcomes across diverse populations. By focusing on the intersection of policy, practice, and population health, PHEO seeks to contribute to the development of systems that promote health equity and measurable improvements in public health outcomes.
Readership: PHEO circulates to over 20,000 individuals with important decision-making responsibilities who influence the access to and utilization of health care resources. Our audience includes clinical leadership, health plan and pharmacy benefit manager leadership, health system C- and D-suite leadership, and other stakeholders from integrated delivery networks, accountable care organizations, Veterans Affairs/government, long-term care organizations, and employers/benefit consultants.
Evaluation Process: All original research articles are subjected to rigorous peer review by experts, including leading clinical investigators, health services researchers, and health policy researchers. Manuscripts are also evaluated to determine the real-world relevance of the information they contain. In addition to original research, PHEO publishes review articles, trends from the field, case descriptions, commentaries, editorials, and letters to the editor. Review articles and most unsolicited trends from the field, case descriptions, and commentaries also undergo peer review. Manuscripts accepted for publication usually appear in print within 6 months from the date of acceptance.
