The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®) is on site in Washington, DC, at the Association of Cancer Care Centers' (ACCC) 50th Annual Meeting & Cancer Center Business Summit. We will be recapping some of the top information presented each day at the conference.
On day 2, Hayden Klein, associate editor at AJMC, spoke with Katherine Meese, PhD, assistant professor of health services administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, about her keynote on managing and optimizing the human margin in health care, where she explored factors driving turnover and burnout and how to sustain a thriving workforce.
Klein also spoke with Nadine Barrett, PhD, MS, MPH, senior associate dean of research equity and community engagement at Wake Forest University, who provided an overview of the 2024-2025 ACCC president's theme, as well as the impact of some of her past research on health equity.
After capping off day 1 with a panel on the 2019 ACCC National Survey on Cancer Care, the second day of the annual meeting included a leadership keynote and training by Meese, as well as a panel about the benefits of using 4R care sequences. During the awards ceremony, Robert A. Winn, MD, director and Lipman Chair in Oncology at the VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center was presented the 2024 clinical research award, and Christa Braun-Inglis, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, AOCNP, nurse practitioner and assistant researcher of the University of Hawaii Cancer Center, was presented the 2024 David King Community Clinical Scientist Award.
